The Smell of Fall...Cinnamon, Apples, Pumpkin Spice, YUM!
When your home smells good, it gives a warm and inviting welcome, ESPECIALLY when fall rolls around. This is my favorite season for its rich, warm colors, cool weather and for the delicious smells of cinnamon, apples, and pumpkin spice! There’s no better feeling than the cozy feeling of autumn.
Whether you are expecting guest or getting your home ready for an open house, here are a few fall aromas to welcome home.
Candles
There are 2 candles that I absolutely love! Each year I look forward to autumn just to be able to light these candles. Wood Wick makes an amazing candle called Autumn and Ashland a delicious scent called Harvest. As soon as you light them, you will feel fall!
Make a Stovetop Simmer
Bring apple slices, cinnamon sticks, orange peel and cloves to a simmer and just like that your home will smell like autumn. Try these yummy recipes from Chasing Foxes and First Home Love Life.
Cinnamon Pine Cones
You know its fall when you start smelling the cinnamon cones in all the stores. These are great because you can use them as a center pieces, place them in closet, or put them in a basket by your door. They also make for a nice hostess gift. Put them in a basket with some fall scented candles and some homemade cookies placed in a mason jar and you have a special fall gift basket. Maya Marin has an easy DIY tutorial to make your own cinnamon pine cones.
Happy Autumn!SaveSaveSave
